I have also freely acknowledged that there is an issue with the implementation of Dynamic EQ on the Denon - something which does not concern me personally, but should operate properly and is something Denon need to fix for those who wish to use it.

If it had such functionality, I would certainly have kept it.

That was a reluctant decision, and only made because having just got a new OLED TV the Pio couldn't pass HLG HDR from Sky. I previously owned Pioneer receivers for many years, and only swapped out my Pioneer SC-LX79 a few months ago. I can assure you I do not work for Denon/Sound United, or that I am any kind of Denon fanboy. It’s still unacceptable in my view that Denon has a fault like this and especially given some feel that by switching off some features of the amp it helps (but still doesn’t cure the problem) I had a yamaha amp approx 10 years ago that didn’t have this issue so it’s not like this is a major recent fault that is so tough to manage! I move the surround to be equidistant and both 1.4m away from my position.Īs I said not ideal but -3.5db on the RS from the audyssey analysis seems to keep the leakage at bay enough not to wind me up.

This could be why I notice it more than some as for normal TV viewing my MLP has one rear surround right behind me and the other approx 1.4m away (not ideal listening positioning but when I watch a film etc. Did a lot of playing last night and although its clear there is a fault with the processing/up mixing separating across all speakers vs centralised for the main vocals, the reducing of volume manually in the rear surrounds and increasing centre channel does offset the distortion enough to make it tolerable.
